1. Year-Month

The reporting period for the data.

2. Product Type

  • Dried Cannabis: Any part of a cannabis plant, except seeds, that has undergone a drying process. This includes dried flowers, pre-ground/milled cannabis (trim/shake), and pre-rolls.
  • Edible Cannabis: Solid or liquid cannabis products intended to be eaten or drunk, such as chocolate, cookies, sodas, and teas.
  • Cannabis Extracts: Products made using extraction methods or by synthesizing phytocannabinoids. These can be intended for inhalation or ingestion, including vape pens, hash, tinctures, softgels, and suppositories.
  • Cannabis Topicals: Products containing cannabis as an ingredient, meant for external use on the body, such as skin, hair, or nails.
  • Whole Cannabis Plants: Cannabis plants that are budding or flowering (unpackaged only).
  • Vegetative Cannabis Plants: Cannabis plants that are not budding or flowering (e.g., clones and seedlings).
  • Cannabis Seeds: Viable (growable) seeds of a cannabis plant.

3. Unpackaged Production

The quantity of cannabis produced by a cultivator or processor that is not yet packaged for retail sale.

4. Unpackaged Inventory

The amount of cannabis stock held by cultivators and/or processors that has not been packaged for sale to consumers.

5. Packaged Production

The number of cannabis products that have been moved from unpackaged inventory into final packaging for sale to consumers at the retail level.

6. Packaged Inventory

The total stock of cannabis that is held by cultivators, processors, distributors, or retailers and is packaged for sale.

7. Sales – Medical

Cannabis products sold directly to medical clients by holders of a federal license for medical sales.

8. Sales – Non-Medical

Cannabis products sold directly in the Canadian retail market (online or in-person) by provincially or territorially authorized distributors or retailers for non-medical purposes.

9. Hectare

A unit of measurement equal to 10,000 square meters.

10. Indoor Growing Area

The total area (in square meters) within a licensed site where indoor cannabis cultivation takes place.

11. Processing Area

The total area (in square meters) within a licensed site where cannabis processing activities occur.

12. Total Building Area

The combined total area (in square meters) of all buildings within a licensed cannabis site.

13. Outdoor Growing Area

The total area (in hectares) within a licensed site where outdoor cannabis cultivation occurs.

14. Employment Estimate

Employment figures are estimated based on voluntarily reported employment data and capacity figures as recorded under the Cannabis Tracking System Order.
